Strolling the aisles of the Cannabis Collaborative Conference, the two-pronged business impact of legal cannabis became clear: It’s breeding new types of businesses while also providing new markets to old standbys.
Ice bong sculptures? That’s new. Big steel safes? That’s not new — but everyone in this business has to have at least one, and that’s good for sales.
The conference brought 130 exhibitors to the Portland Expo Center on Wednesday and Thursday. Along with the exhibits, dozens of speakers and panels explored topics like “Herbanomics: An Economic Update of the U.S. Cannabis Market,” “Intellectual Property Protection for Cannabis Brands and Invention” and “Edible Expertise.”
